EXCLUSIVE: Never-Trump Billionaire Paul Singer Tried To Stop MAGA In The Primaries, Now He’s Funding Democrats

In a shocking and now viral report published by Slingshot News on Sunday, we revealed that a majority of the Republicans in the House of Representatives that have opted to retire, or not seek re-election in 2024, have taken donations from billionaire Never-Trump hedge fund manager Paul Singer.

We showed that Singer funded the false research picked up by Fusion GPS in the Steele Dossier, which was eventually used by the FBI to obtain FISA warrants on then-candidate and President Trump. Singer has a well-documented history of targeting Trump, whether it be through his funding of Marco Rubio during the 2016 Presidential Election through the ‘Our Principles’ PAC, his connection to the Steele Dossier, or his recent donation to Trump challenger Nikki Haley of $5,000,000 through the SFA Fund PAC.

Through our investigation of Singer’s campaign contributions leading up to the 2024 Election, Slingshot News discovered that Singer funded an effort to stop several Trump-endorsed Republicans from winning their Republican primaries in the 2024. Singer’s plot was focused in Texas, but also included North Carolina and Alabama.

On February 6th, 2024, Singer donated $1,500,000 to a Super PAC called ‘Conservatives For American Excellence.’ Slingshot News investigated ‘Conservatives For American Excellence,’ and found that the group had spent millions of dollars to stop Trump-endorsed Republicans across the United States in 2024.

For one, the Singer-funded group spent at least $971,650 against Trump-endorsed candidate for the House of Representatives Brandon Gill. Gill is vying to replace current Republican Representative Michael Burgess in Texas’ 26th Congressional district. Gill was also endorsed by Senator Ted Cruz.

Gill is the son-in-law of Conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, and has been endorsed by prominent figures in the GOP, even receiving the endorsement of the House Freedom Caucus. Despite the near million dollars that Singer dropped against Gill, the newcomer was able to avoid a runoff in his Primary, securing a victory with over 58% of the total vote in Texas 26.

Even though Paul Singer tried to influence the outcome of this election, he failed.

‘Conservatives For American Excellence’ also spent $647,249 against Republican Representative Barry Moore in Alabama’s first Congressional district. Moore has campaigned with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. Moore has been previously endorsed by President Donald Trump.

Despite efforts from the Singer-funded outfit ‘Conservatives For American Excellence’ to stop Moore from achieving victory in the Alabama Republican Primary, he won his race on March 6th, 2024, garnering 51.5% of the total vote.

Gill and Moore’s victories signal a changing tide within the Republican Party. Establishment candidates and the political action committees that promote their campaigns are no longer the all-powerful groups that they once were. Donald Trump’s influence over the Republican voter base has grown so vast that even with millions of dollars of opposition media against them, the candidates he endorsed dominate within Republican circles.

Trump’s dominance among Republican voters has become something of an enigma, and a deadly reality for anybody that has challenged him. The formidable nature of Trump’s appeal to the Republican voter base was perfectly encapsulated by former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s tactic of utilizing traditionally liberal sources of political advertising while challenging Trump in the 2024 Republican Presidential primary.

It was Haley’s understanding that non-Republican voters, whom were able to vote in the open primaries of New Hampshire and South Carolina, would give Haley her only path to victory against Trump. Even Nikki Haley, a longtime establishment political figure, understood that when it comes to Republican voters, there is no prospect of challenging Trump.

If we are examining things honestly, many of the Republican Representatives in the House have made their bones in the last several years by simply pretending to support the former President while simultaneously working in direct contradiction of Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda.

Singer, who have $5,000,000 to Nikki Haley’s failed Presidential bid, has taken up a similar strategy heading into 2024. Along with funding Republicans who are departing, or have departed the House of Representatives in 2024, Singer has also donated $1,000,000 to a PAC called ‘United Democracy Project.’

The ‘United Democracy Project’ is currently supporting just one Democrat candidate for Congress in California’s 47th Congressional District. Why is Paul Singer, a notorious establishment anti-Trump donor, donating to a PAC that supports Democrats heading into 2024?

Singer’s funding of Democrats, along with his funding of Republicans working to hand the House of Representatives to the Democratic Party ahead of the 2024 Election, which would in-turn allow for President Trump to be banned from the nationwide Presidential ballot speaks to the level of desperation that Singer and the entrierty of the GOP establishment donor class are currently facing.

If Singer and his donor friends cannot control the Republican Party, and cannot force the Republican voters to reject Donald Trump, they will simply lobby their Representatives to retire, in addition to funding Democrats.

By all indications, it appears that Paul Singer and the GOP establishment are more than willing to destroy the Republican Party, and its presence in Washington D.C., in an effort to rid themselves of Trump.
