First Trump-Biden Debate Officially Announced After Trump Accepts Challenge
The first debate between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden has officially been announced by CNN. The announcement comes after President Joe Biden released a video calling on Trump to debate him.
Former President Trump has been calling for a debate with President Joe Biden for months now. Biden was silent on the challenges until this morning, when the President released a video in which he states,
“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020, and since he hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal! I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates, Donald. I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.”

The first of these two dates was confirmed just after Biden released his video challenging Trump. The debate will be held on June 27th, 2024 on CNN.
The second debate will be held on September 10th, and will be hosted by ABC News.
Trump released a statement on the debates at 8:43 AM this morning on his Truth Social feed, saying,
Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced – He can’t put two sentences together! Crooked is also the WORST President in the history of the United States, by far. It’s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing Inflation, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy, which is allowing the World to “Catch on Fire.” I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September. I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds – That’s only because he doesn’t get them. Just tell me when, I’ll be there. “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!”
Former President Donald Trump
Biden’s approval rating currently sits at just 38.3% nationally, making him perhaps the most unpopular first-term President in the history of the United States. The only comparable President, as it pertains to Biden’s low approval rating, is former President Jimmy Carter.
“The Biden camp had to make a decision,” shared Roger Stone, a Republican veteran of 13 national Presidential campaigns. “Which would hurt them more, not showing up for a debate or debating in his current condition? It seems they chose the latter,” Stone said.
The first debate between Trump and Biden in the 2020 Election took place on September 29th, 2020. It drew an astounding 73.1 million viewers, making it the third most-watched political debate of all time.
Coincidentally, the second highest rated debate in American history was the first Presidential debate between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter in 1980. The most viewed debate in American political history was the first debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in 2016.
