In San Francisco at the Pro Bowl this week, star wide-receiver George Pickens was asked about his looming contract talks with the Cowboys, while standing next to former Dallas Defender Micah Parsons. Though the Cowboys have not been to a Super Bowl in over 30 years, players still attend the big game.
Pickens joined the Cowboys in late May, 2025 and took the league by storm, recording 1,429 yards and 9 touchdowns. He was amongst the best wide receivers in the NFL last season.
The Pro-Bowl receiver was asked about the possibility of receiving an extension with the Cowboys, citing salary cap space which was created by trading Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Pickens replied, “Everything in life is a possibility,” while cracking a smile.
Seemingly stunned by the reporters’ boldness. Parsons’ face became expressionless after hearing Pickens’ reply. The Dallas receiver quickly added, “We certainly could have used Micah Parsons.”
Could this statement signify any bad blood between Pickens and Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones? Pickens has the same agent, David Mulugheta, who was the center of controversy during Parsons’s contract negotiations.
Parsons Allegedly Pushing Pickens To ‘Follow His Path’
Several reports have been released alleging Parsons was pushing for Pickens to follow his path, and sign with the Green Bay Packers in free agency during his time at the Pro-Bowl.
With lots of uncertainty heading towards the start of 2026 free agency, Pickens remains at top concern for Cowboys fans, following his immediate success with quarterback Dak Prescott, which earned the team the #2 offense in professional football.
Alongside key additions like Quinnen Williams, and an extra first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Cowboys fans hope that signing Pickens to a long-term deal will allow the team to focus on a defensive draft in late April.
