Trump endorsed

After he delivered remarks today in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Police Officers Association of Michigan announced that they would be endorsing the former President over current President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 Election.

The Police Officers Association of Michigan was the first law enforcement group to endorse Trump in Michigan in 2016, and in 2020. The group includes 12,000 law enforcement officers in the State of Michigan.

The endorsement comes just days after Trump attended the wake of New York Police Department officer Jonathan Diller while President Joe Biden attended a high-dollar fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on the same evening, and skipped the wake.

Trump spoke briefly after the wake, showing support for law enforcement across the country, calling them ‘our best.’

A spokesman for the Police Officers Association of Michigan told Trump today from the podium,

“We supported you, we endorsed you in 2016, we were the first guys in Michigan. You sent me a little video and we still have it. We were proud to do it. We were there in 2020, and I’ll tell you, we’re here in 2024. Today on behalf of 12,000 law enforcement people that the Police Officers Association of Michigan represent, we want you to accept our endorsement for President on the United States.”

The State of Michigan will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election. Trump has historically outperformed other Republicans in the State of Michigan, but lost the State to President Joe Biden in 2020.

Michigan was a crucial piece of Trump’s dominate 2016 performance, and if he is to win again in 2024, he will most likely have to carry the State once again. Wisconsin, Trump’s other stop today, will most likely be a far more difficult challenge.
