Popular TikTok creator, Maddy Baloy, who was best known for documenting her journey with terminal cancer for millions online, passed away from colon cancer this week at the age of 26.
After experiencing various stomach symptoms in 2022, Baloy was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Initially, Maddy was only given five years to live; however, she did not let this news stop her.
After receiving the diagnosis, Baloy created a TikTok account to document her life battling the illness. Maddy quickly amassed a large following, with millions watching her videos.
One of the most prominent things Maddy mentioned on her TikTok was her bucket list of twenty things she wanted to do before she passed away. Thanks to the power of social media, Baloy was able to accomplish 19 out of the twenty things that she listed.
On that list were things like getting a tattoo, appearing on a “cool podcast,” and meeting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. After seeing Maddy’s post, Ramsay flew her to Miami, Florida, to have dinner at one of his Hell’s Kitchen restaurants. He also invited her to join him at the opening of his new restaurant, Lucky Cat, in South Beach.
Gordon Ramsay released a statement following Baloy’s passing.
“I’m truly at a loss for words by the sad news we received today about the loss of (Madison),
“She was kind, fun and a true inspiration to me and my three girls. Knowing we were able to make one of her dreams come true will always be cherished by me.”
“She will always be my first & last dance in the kitchen and never forgotten. Sending all our love to her fiancé and family,”

Maddy’s final TikTok post was uploaded in March of this year. The video was filmed in Japan, where she explains her illness.
“Hi my name is Madison and I have stage four terminal cancer, and I haven’t taken a bath in a year,”
“My cancer is in my large intestine, my small intestine, my uterus, my ovaries, basically the entire lower half of my body is filled up with cancer. Because of that, I had to have an emergency surgery to receive a colostomy [bag].”
“The only thing that I can think of is how amazing a bath would feel,” she added. “This house happens to have the most beautiful bath that I’ve ever seen. But because I have a colostomy, I haven’t taken a bath in a year.”
