RESIGNED

Following the bombshell report on Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger, who was the subject of a Slingshot News article posted yesterday detailing an arrest that occurred at President Trump’s joint Congressional address on March 4th, news outlets have reported this morning that Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger has officially resigned from his post.

Manger will officially vacate his post in May.

Slingshot News exclusively revealed that Manger had been a registered lobbyist for a national police organization that received large amounts of donations from multiple military defense contractors, including Skydio and L3Harris.

We also exclusively revealed within that report that a Congressional staffer had been allowed to carry a firearm into the Inauguration, information we received from both former and current members of Capitol Police.

In a statement released from his office today, Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger announced his resignation, writing in a letter,

“When I took the oath of office in the summer of 2021 – I could not have imagined the progress a police department of our size could make in just a few years. Then again, at that time, I had not met many of you. We have made more than 100 significant improvements to this historic Department because of your hard work. You should be proud. I am certainly proud of you. It is now time to let a new generation of leaders continue the success that we have all begun. My last day with the United States Capitol Police will be on May 2, 2025.”

Our sources, both former and current members of Capitol Police have confirmed that the article published less than 24 hours ago was the ‘final straw’ in Manger’s decision to abandon the force.

This information was brought to us by source Tarik Johnson, a former Lieutenant for the Capitol Police who has become an advocate for reforms to the Department since his resignation following the events of January 6th, 2021.

Slingshot News owner and Founder Troy Smith issued the following statement on the news that Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger has resigned.

“Today marks a tremendous day, not just for Slingshot News, or American hero Lt. Tarik Johnson and the Capitol Police, but for the American people. President Trump’s life was placed in harm’s way by the actions of Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger. His reckless decision to allow an unvetted man into the Inauguration with a firearm is reprehensible. Exposing Manger’s past was a huge part of holding him accountable, and I cannot tell you how proud I am of Slingshot News for being the outlet who exposed this information.

Slingshot News will continue to be a platform dedicated to exposing the truth, no matter whom it may implicate.

I would also like to thank my friend Roger Stone for giving us a platform on his 77 WABC AM radio platform, syndicated by the Red Apple Network, last night in order to expose this information.

Slingshot News is the future of media.”

L3Harris received a total of over $2.3 Billion in new contracts under the previous Democrat Administration. Skydio, a drone manufacturer based in Utah, was used to send drones to the front lines of the Ukraine War.

These companies are top sponsors of the ‘Major City Chiefs Association’, for which Thomas Manger was a registered lobbyist from 2019 until he became Capitol Police Chief in 2021.
