Jason Holton, who was best known as the United Kingdom’s “Heaviest Man,” passed away this week at the age of 33 due to organ failure and obesity-related complications.

Holton’s passing came just days before his 34th birthday. Despite interventions to combat organ failure, Holton passed away. Holton weighed approximately 317 kg.

According to Holton’s mother, Leisa, firefighters had to assist with his transportation to Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Jason’s mother, Leisa, told local media outlets that the first of his organs to stop working was his kidney. Subsequently, doctors informed Leisa that her son would die “within a week.” Following her son’s passing, Leisa released a statement.

“Jason soon started to go downhill,”

“He’s probably had about eight lives and I thought the doctors would be able to save him again, but sadly it wasn’t possible.”

In 2020, Holton experienced a horrific incident where he collapsed at his mother’s third floor flat, which ended with his rescue by over thirty firefighters and a crane. Jason described the incident as “the most devastating time of my life.”

When discussing the tragic collapse of his third-story flat, Jason mentioned that he found the crowd gathered outside very distressing. He referenced the movie “The Whale,” which explores the topic of obesity.

“It felt like a horror movie to me. I even warned my mom not to watch it, and ended up turning it off myself in tears.”

“I cried myself to sleep at that film. It was very upsetting for me because now I thought I’m Britain’s fattest man, that’s what people are going to think of me,”

In an interview last year with TalkTV, Jason stated, “I believe time is over for me in general. I’m coming up on 34 now. Iknow I’ve got to try something.”

He lived in a specially adapted council bungalow, custom-built with reinforced furniture for his comfort. In the later part of his life, Holton was immobile, bed-bound and suffered from breathing difficulties.

Holton reportedly began overeating as a teen while grieving his father’s death and went on to consume 10,000 calories a day, which included eating doner kebabs for breakfast.
