When President-elect Donald Trump selected loyalist Kash Patel as his FBI Director last week, the announcement sent shockwaves throughout the traditional halls of Washington D.C. who now understood exactly what the re-elected President intends to bring to the Nation’s capital… Change.

Patel universally fails the ‘eye test’ of other nominees for the position in recent years, and is known primarily for his former role as a prosecutor at the Department of Justice. Patel served as the Senior Director of the Counterterrorism Directorate at the U.S. National Security Council under Trump’s first administration.

Being a diehard MAGA loyalist, Patel faces a tough confirmation battle in the Senate, which despite being controlled by Republicans, is filled with more traditional Republicans and Democrats who see Patel as a threat to the established order at the FBI.

Over the last several days, Trump’s FBI Director nominee has been meeting with Senators in order to pave his road to confirmation to replace Christopher Wray as FBI Director. Patel could recently met with Senator John Cornyn of Texas, who was said to be a skeptic.

After the meeting, Senator Cornyn informed the media that he is ‘inclined’ to vote for Patel to be confirmed to the position of FBI Director. See a video of the Texas Senator making that statement in the video below,

Tonight, Utah Senator Mike Lee uploaded a photo of himself and the controversial FBI Director nominee after an apparent meeting, giving the caption, “Although it spends too much, our government’s not short on cash But it is in desperate need of Kash We must—and we will—confirm @Kash_Patel as our next FBI director.”

See that post below,

Senator Chuck Grassley has penned a letter to current FBI Director Christopher Wray claiming that he has ‘seen enough’ and that it is time for Wray to ‘make room’ for Patel at the Justice Department.

Patel, much like other members of Trump’s cabinet, are set to face tough confirmation battles in the U.S. Senate.
