Who Won The Micah Parsons Trade?

Now that the NFL season has come to a close, it’s time to take a look at how the Dallas Cowboys’ decision to move on from superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons has played out.

Before tearing his ACL in week 15, Parsons racked up 12.5 sacks with Green Bay this season. Despite his injury, the Packers made it to the playoffs, where they lost to the Chicago Bears in the Wild Card game.

In return for the dominant edge rusher, Green Bay sent two first-round selections, as well as three-time Pro-Bowler Kenny Clark. Parsons’ efforts this season would put him on pace to record 15+ sacks in a full 17-game season.

During the 2025 season, Dallas sent a 2027 1st-round selection to the New York Jets in exchange for superstar defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. Leaving them with two defensive tackles and an extra selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

When just looking at the trade by itself, Green Bay certainly came out on top, but as time passes, that changes. Green Bay’s move to get Parsons was a clear “win now” decision, meaning every year that they fail to do so, the trade’s favorability fades.

For the Cowboys, hope continues to grow as they attempt to usher in a new era of defense in Dallas under new defensive coordinator Christian Parker. With new faces and scheme changes, Dallas fans hope that trading Parsons was just what they needed to take the next step.

For now, it’s safe to say that Green Bay benefits the most in the short term, but will they end up regretting that decision down the road?
