College Football Star Tragically Found Dead In Apartment At 23

Keith Miller III, a wide receiver that played for the Texas A&M Commerce, tragically passed away in his apartment near the main campus of the University of Texas A&M Commerce on Thursday evening.

Miller III had previously played college football for the University of Colorado, but had transferred to Texas A&M Commerce in 2022. He served as a team captain for the squad in 2023.

While playing for Colorado, Miller compiled 106 receptions for 1,856 yards and 22 touchdowns in his career and totaled 134 points with one two-point conversion. Miller had 4 touchdowns for A&M in 2023 on just 22 catches. In 2022, he had 17 catches for the team.

His loss comes as a tremendous shock and surprise to those around him, as well as the school that loved him dearly. Texas A&M Commerce put out the following announcement on the death of their beloved star player,

It is with great sadness that Texas A&M University-Commerce announces the passing of football student-athlete Keith Miller.
 
Miller passed away tragically in his apartment near campus on Thursday evening. The entire Lion community sends its deepest sympathy to Keith’s family, friends, and teammates.
 
“We are heartbroken by Keith’s unexpected passing,” said head coach Clint Dolezel. “Keith was a beloved father, son, teammate, and student-athlete. We extend our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all who loved him at this very difficult time.”
 
Known for his infectious smile and personality, Miller was a two-year member of the Lion football program and served as a team captain in the 2023 season.

As a team captain, this young man was a leader. To lose him at such a young age is a tremendous tragedy. Rest in peace, young legend.
