If you have been paying attention to the drama surrounding Congress over the last several months, it’s almost certain that you have heard something about Republican South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace.
Immediately after the November Presidential election, Mace made a spectacle of herself by raising the issue with LGBTQ members of Congress using the same bathroom that she was forced to use.
The Congresswoman filmed videos of herself lambasting Democrats and fellow Republicans for not joining her in her fight against LGBTQ members of the legislature.
Rep. Nancy Mace Begs For Attention With Congressional Salary Stunt
During the fight over the continuing resolution in order to avert a government shutdown, Rep. Nancy Mace pledged that she would not take a salary if the government did close its doors.
The Congresswoman uploaded a dramatic video of herself signing a document in which she pledged to not take her salary. See that video below,
Congress had 85 days to fix this and waited until the last minute. If Congress won’t do the work, then Congress shouldn’t get paid.

I’m putting my money where our mouth is. If the government shuts down, I will forego my paycheck. pic.twitter.com/DxcGxrtCBD
In addition to signing the document herself, Mace uploaded a full copy to her X account. See the letter she penned to the House Speaker below,

That letter reads,
On September 26th, 2024, the President signed into law, H.R. 9747 – Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025, which provided continuing appropriations to fund the government through midnight on December 20th, 2024. Despite having 85 days to pass appropriations bills to fund the government, Congress has completely abdicated its responsibility to appropriate funding in a timely and fiscally responsible manner, and we find ourselves hours away from a lapse in appropriations.
Simply put, Congress did not do its job. It is my firm belief Members of Congress should be treated no differently than any American citizen – if we do not do the work, we should not get paid. In the event of a lapse in appropriations, I ask you withhold my net salary until such time as government funding is restored. It is my hope fiscal sanity and accountability will soon be restored to Washington. Until then, I will hold myself to the same standards as the American people.
Former Consultant ‘Spills The Beans’ On Nancy Mace’s Inappropriate Behavior
Wesley Donehue, a political consultant who worked for Mace in the past, has reportedly been contacted dozens of times over the last several weeks for comment on his former client.
Having ignored the requests, Donehue finally sounded off on his X account today, slamming the Republican Congresswoman and alleging serious inappropriate behavior on her behalf.
The former consultant of Mace said,
“You can stop texting me. I fired Nancy Mace as client a few months back because I’m a political consultant and not a babysitter, a *** therapist or a doctor who can prescribe fixes for chemical imbalances. I don’t have time for her constant egotistical ******** and drama in my life.”
The former consultant pulled no punches, alleging that the Congresswoman would often burden him with facts about her romantic life.
He accused the Congresswoman of being focused on her own ego, an allegation that has been launched at Mace by members of the media for some time now.
One X user accused Donehue of being unprofessional, to which he replied, “That term has no meaning in the world of Nancy Mace. Y’all can stop using it. The rules do not apply here.”
