Trump Goes On The Warpath Against RFK Jr. Ahead Of Libertarian Convention Duel

Both former President Donald Trump and independent candidate for President RFK Jr. are scheduled to speak before the Libertarian National Convention this week. Kennedy Jr. delivered remarks to the group on Friday.

The independent candidate for President told the Libertarian delegates during his fiery speech that President Trump failed to “stand up for the Constitution when it really mattered.”

Trump is set to deliver remarks to the convention on Saturday evening, with rumors swirling that the former President could face a hostile crowd while delivering his looming speech.

“Trump is the only president in modern times to not start a new foreign war. He is the peace candidate in 2024,” said Roger Stone to Slingshot News. “Trump would have already ended the Ukraine-Russia conflict and would not be promoting war in the Middle East by financing Iran,” Stone added.

Stone himself, a 45+ year friend and adviser to former President Donald Trump, briefly bolted the Republican Party in 2012 to support the candidacy of Libertarian Presidential candidate governor Gary Johnson when the Republican Party nominated Mitt Romney.

During his remarks at the Libertarian Convention, Kennedy lambasted former President Donald Trump over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that Trump ‘caved’ to ‘bureaucrats’ when he acted to restrict the American economy during the pandemic.

Currently the Libertarian Party holds ballot access in 37 different states, something that the Kennedy campaign, which has had to spend a majority of its political resources and time gaining ballot access in the 2024 Election as an independent candidate, is obviously intent on gaining.

Kennedy played to the more libertine aspects of the Libertarian Party during his speech, going as far as to claim that there should be a statue erected in Washington D.C. of infamous and heroic whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Snowden was forced to defect to Russia after exposing a spying scandal involving the highest levels of the U.S. government, including the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Trump, before his speech, went on the offensive on his Truth Social account, blasting RFK Jr. who he affectionately refers to as ‘Junior,’ as the ‘most radical left candidate’ in the history of the United States.

That post from Trump’s Truth Social feed reads,

Don’t waste any Republican or Conservative votes on Junior.’ He’s one of the most Liberal Lunatics ever to run for office. He caused massive high energy pricing in New York and New England. He just admitted that he was actually OK with the Vaccine. A Phony Radical Left fool whose poll numbers are TERRIBLE, and getting worse. His campaign is falling apart, great dissension!!!

Donald Trump

Both Trump and Kennedy are potentially seeking support from the Libertarian Party, but for vastly different reasons.

It has been speculated by many in the political realm that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. may have chosen his running mate, billionaire liberal activist Nicole Shanahan, because she possesses the necessary ‘war chest’ of money that Kennedy needs to successfully coordinate ballot access initiatives in enough states to potentially reach 270 Electoral College Votes.

Former President Trump appears to be looking to pull in Libertarian third party votes that were a detriment to his 2024 campaign. Though Libertarian support may seem minimal, in places like Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, just a few jurisdictions truly decided the outcome of the 2020 Election.

Trump’s strategy of ‘getting out in front’ of the Libertarian vote ahead of the 2024 Election is a bold choice indeed.
