While speaking at a rally for U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno in Dayton, Ohio yesterday, former President Donald Trump bridged the subject of the fate of the American auto industry should Biden be re-elected in the upcoming 2024 Election.
During that portion of the former President’s speech, he claimed that the auto industry would face a ‘bloodbath’ if he were to lose in 2024. The full quote from Trump’s speech in Dayton reads as following,
Mexico has taken, over a period of 30 years, 34% of the automobile manufacturing business in our country. Think of it, went to Mexico. China now is building a massive plant where they’re gonna build the cars in Mexico and they think they are going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the Border.
Let me tell you something, to China, if you’re listening President Xi, and we are friends, but he understands the way I deal. Those big, monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re gonna get that, you’re gonna not hire Americans and you’re gonna sell the cars to us now, we’re gonna put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not gonna be able to sell those cars.
If I get elected, now if I don’t gonna get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath. That’s gonna be the least of it, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it, but they’re not gonna sell those cars.

The media is lying about Donald Trump with this narrative about a “bloodbath” if he loses the election. He was very clearly talking about the car manufacturing industry—before and after he used the word.

The former President is clearly referencing the auto industry when he refers to a ‘bloodbath,’ but that did not stop the mainstream media from twisting his words. Politico published an article entitled, “Trump says country faces ‘bloodbath’ if Biden wins in November.”
The article insinuates that it is “unclear what the former president meant exactly,” but that his statement, “came as Trump was complaining about the automobile industry.”
Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who now hosts a bi-weekly show on MSNBC, reposted a message on her X account this morning, urging journalists to mischaracterize Trump’s comments as ‘calling for a bloodbath.’ That tweet, originating from U.S. Senator from Hawaii Brian Schatz reads, “Headline writers: Don’t outsmart yourself. Just do “Trump Promises Bloodbath if he Doesn’t Win Election.”
NBC followed Schatz and Psaki’s recommendation, running the headline, “Trump says there will be a ‘bloodbath’ if he loses the election,” prompting the question, who really controls the narratives presented within the mainstream media? Psaki is a former Biden White House official, and Schatz, an elected member of the Democrat Party, and U.S. Senate.
The media coverage of Trump’s comment in Dayton received an extreme amount of backlash on X, where several creators were community noted for falsely portraying the former President’s comments.
Biden’s Impact On The Auto Industry
The Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has pushed forth new standards for automobiles, and has moved to mandate auto manufacturers into producing a larger percentage of electric vehicles, with mandates extending to 2030 and beyond.
The United Auto Workers Union, along with auto manufacturers, have called for these sweeping new regulations to be stopped. In States like Michigan, which rely heavily on auto manufacturing for their economies, the fate of the auto industry is set to have a major impact on the 2024 Election.
Some have speculated that it may be due to this fact that prominent Democrats like Jen Psaki and Brian Schatz are so eager to change the subject.
