During her daily press briefing today from the White House press briefing room, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre incorrectly referred to the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which recently collapsed due to a cargo ship smashing into one of the pillars.
The collapse of that bridge left 6 people dead, all of them being construction workers who were reportedly working on the bridge at the time of the collapse. The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge was a national, and worldwide news story that dominated headlines for an entire week.
Today White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre incorrectly called that bridge the ‘Francis Scott King’ bridge. She made this statement from the White House podium earlier today.
The White House Press Secretary said from the podium,
“Six individuals tragically lost their lives when the Francis Scott King bridge collapsed last week”

Jean-Pierre’s gaffe immediately began to circulate the internet after she made the glaring mistake, with internet users questioning if the White House Press Secretary knows anything at all about the bridge.
President Joe Biden has recently stated that the federal government should be responsible for rebuilding the bridge. Biden said,
It is my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge, and I expect the Congress to support my effort.
To the people of Baltimore, I want to say, we’re with you. We’re going to stay with you as long as it takes.
President Joe Biden
It is still unclear who will exactly pay for the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
