Stevens was officially taken off of life support on Saturday, ending his life tragically before it even really began.
The boy had been taken into foster care after his father had died in 2021. He is survived by his sister. The boy’s mother had surrendered her parental rights.
His service is planned for Monday morning in Crown Point. A vigil is scheduled the same day. His great aunt said of the funeral,
We looking forward to reuniting one day. Unfortunately we’re going to reunite on Monday, but not as we planned.

Rest in peace, Dakota Stevens!
