Biden Says His Legacy Includes The War In Vietnam
During a recent interview with Univision, President Joe Biden made a claim about his hopes for his legacy that is stirring controversy online. The statement about his own legacy is generating criticism because President Joe Biden mentioned Vietnam and war.
The United States has not been involved in a war in Vietnam since 1975, when the Vietnam War ended. When President Joe Biden was asked about what he hopes his legacy will be during an interview with Univision, the President said,
Well, I hope the legacy is that, uh, I kept my word that I said that the reason I was running helped change the life of ordinary people. It reduced the prospect of war…. because of Vietnam. And when I ran I said that I was once asked what why, when I was 29 years old, it must be a secret. And I said yeah, the secret you gotta ask yourself is, what are you willing to lose over?
You figure out what you’re worried to lose over, you got an idea of what you should be doing. And so I hope my legacy is honest, straightforward, and did what I said.

While the first half of Biden’s response is confusing, considering conflicts in Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Israel have erupted since he took Office, the second half of Biden’s remark is quite literally nonsensical.
Questions about the health of the incumbent President have plagued his polling numbers since the announcement of his re-election campaign. Biden’s health is amongst the top issues for voters heading into the 2024 Election.
