CNN Political Commentator, Alice Stewart Dead At 58

Longtime Republican political commentator Alice Stewart, best known as a mainstay at CNN since the 2016 Presidential election, passed away this week at the age of 58.

Law enforcement stated that they do not believe there was any foul play in Stewart’s death. Police also stated that they believe Alice suffered a medical emergency.

Alice was born on March 11, 1966, in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Tucker High School in Georgia, Stewart attended the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism, where she obtained degrees in journalism and political science.

Stewart began her career as a weekend anchor on the NBC Little Rock affiliate KARK television station. In her political career, she started serving as the communications director for the presidential campaigns of Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann and former Senator Rick Santorum. She also played the same role in both of Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaigns, as well as for Ted Cruz in 2016.

Following her work on Ted Cruz’s campaign in 2016, Stewart joined CNN, where she continued to work until her passing.

Several of Stewart’s friends and co-workers at CNN have released statements following Alice’s tragic passing.

 “A political veteran and an Emmy Award-winning journalist who brought an incomparable spark to CNN’s coverage, known across our bureaus not only for her political savvy, but for her unwavering kindness. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn such an extraordinary loss.”

“We always invited her to come on my show because we knew we would be a little bit smarter at the end of that conversation,”

“She helped our viewers better appreciate what was going on and that’s why we will miss her so much.”
