‘Die Hard 2’ Actor Tom Bower Dies At 86

Tom Bower, who acted in the beloved film ‘Die Hard 2,’ has reportedly died at the age of 86. Bower also acted in the hit television show ‘The Waltons,’ portraying character Rex Barker in season four of the show.

The actor died in his Los Angeles home on May 30th. The Denver-born native reportedly died in his sleep. His sister-in-law Mary Miller confirmed news of the actor’s death to the Hollywood Reporter.

Bower’s acting career spans over 50 years. More recently he had a small role on the television show Lucky Hank. Early in his career Bower made a name for himself with the television series “Kojak,” “The Bionic Woman” and “The Rockford Files.”

The legendary actor also made appearances in “Massive Retaliation” (1984), “Beverly Hills Cop II” (1987), “Raising Cain” (1992) and “Nixon” (1995).

He portrayed 37th President Richard Nixon’s father in the 1995 film. The actor was known for his love of acting, and dedication to his craft.

His marquee film, ‘Die Hard 2‘, released in 1990, grossed a whopping $117 Million at the box office globally. The late actor starred beside Bruce Willis, as well as William Atherton and Bonnie Bedelia.

Also a prolific television actor, Bower appeared in the shows “The West Wing” (2000), “Law & Order” (2001), “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006), “Grey’s Anatomy” (2013), “Criminal Minds” (2013) and “Bosch” (2016).

Remembrances for the late actor poured in after news of his death began to circulate online today. One fan said in a post, “Tom Bower was one of those actors that I always enjoyed seeing whenever he’d pop up in a bit/supporting role. RIP.”

Bower will be remembered for his work for years to come. Rest in peace Tom Bower!
