Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance announced on his X page this morning that he will be inviting Daniel Penny, the defendant who recently was declared not guilty in the self defense killing of Jordan Neely in New York City, to the Army vs Navy football game this Saturday.
Penny, who was declared not guilty earlier this week for allegedly choking the homeless and drug-addicted Jordan Neely, has been heavily criticized by members of the media and social media users following the verdict.
The incident took place on May 1st, 2024 after Neely boarded the F train as it was traveling through Manhattan and began yelling about feelings of starvation. According to witnesses present at the time, the homeless Neely claimed that he didn’t care about returning to jail, and was willing to die.
Neely reportedly struggled as Penny took him into a chokehold until authorities arrived. Neely was unresponsive upon Penny’s release of the hold.
A civil suit against Penny filed by Jordan Neely’s father is still pending.
The news that Penny would attend this Saturday’s football game with Vance was first broken by Notus Reports reporter Reese Gorman, who posted at 8:12 AM, “New: VP-Elect JD Vance has invited Daniel Penny to be his personal guest at the Army-Navy game this weekend, per source familiar. They will be joining President Trump in his suite at the game.”

They will be joining President Trump in his suite at the game.
Vance then confirmed the news on his own X feed by quoting the post, and adding his own caption reading, “Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone. I’m grateful he accepted my invitation and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage.”

Vance could be seen yesterday accompanying President-elect Donald Trump to the New York Stock Exchange, where Trump rang the opening bell.
The Vice Presidential nominee could be heard joking with the traders on the floor, saying, “It’s 9:48am shouldn’t you be making money?!”
A video of the interaction was uploaded by Trump deputy communications director Margo Martin. See that video below,
