Three Primetime CBS Shows Cancelled For 2024

Three of CBS’ largest and most popular television series have been cancelled heading into the summer of 2024, leaving many fans questioning whether or not their favorite program will continue to be available on air.

Variety has reported that CBS has cancelled So Help Me Todd, NCIS: Hawai’i, and CSI: Vegas all prior to the production of this years’ shows. If you were a fan of any of these programs, we are sorry to say, but you unfortunately won’t be able to experience any more new shows.

So Help Me Todd debuted in 2022, airing for just two seasons. Both NCIS: Hawai’i and CSI: Vegas were cancelled after three seasons, beginning in 2021. CBS said about cancelling NCIS: Hawai’i,

It is incumbent on us to always keep the schedule fresh, keep momentum going. We had to make some really tough choices this year. Everything came back [from the Hollywood strikes] really strong, but ultimately we have to look at the cohesiveness of the schedule flow. We have to evaluate the financials and the performance overall, and we make tough decisions.

CBS Executives On Cancelling NCIS: Hawai’i

It appears that the extremely expensive budget of NCIS: Hawai’i, being filmed on the islands, was simply too much for CBS to continue to justify.

Instead, CBS will be rebooting ‘Matlock,’ this time starring Kathy Bates. The network will also release a new comedy show entitled “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.

For fans of these cancelled programs, this ending may not be the one you envisioned. Especially not this abrupt.

CBS president and CEO George Cheeks said,

“Budgets are challenged, so we don’t have an unlimited amount of slots on Paramount+. It’s something that we’re always open to, but it’s never a guarantee.”

For now, fans of these shows will have to find a different way to entertain themselves!

Loved NCIS Hawaii. plots were sometimes a bit out there but on the whole it is a great series.
Unfortunately, the almighty dollar reigns again.
Cancel 2 good shows to put on 2 garbage shows that are cheaper.
Mattlock w/female lead won’t fly w/public. Especially the older gen who remember the original series.
Again the $. Just have to get the commercials to the 20-50 crowd.
Wayans comedy is hard to stomach. Boring or slapstick.
