White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre addressed the death of NFL legend O.J. Simpson today from the White House podium. The White House Press Secretary said that the White House sends its condolences to the family of O.J. Simpson.
Jean-Pierre was criticized by some for not mentioning the families of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, who many believe that Simpson killed and was wrongfully acquitted for. While Simpson was never successfully charged with murder, it still appears that public opinion views Simpson as a murderer.
The White House Press Secretary issued the following statement on the death of O.J. Simpson,
“So I’ll say this, our thoughts are with his families during this difficult time, obviously with his family and loves ones, and I’ll say this… I know that they have asked for some privacy and so we’re going to respect that. I’ll just leave it there.”

The White House failed to release any additional statement on the death of O.J. Simpson. In addition to being an extremely popular football player, who without post-football controversy would be considered one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, Simpson was also a Hollywood actor.
He frequented television commercials, and was a well-known figure in America prior to the death of his wife Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. Simpson would later spend time in prison for armed robbery.
It is still unknown whether or not there will be a public funeral of any kind for O.J. Simpson. He was 76 years old, and reportedly died from cancer.
