President Joe Biden announced today that his Administration will be airdropping aid into the Gaza strip following reports that the region is currently facing a famine, endangering millions of lives.
The package comes on the heels of an announcement by Samantha Power, the administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, that the U.S. would be sending an additional $53 Million aid package to Gaza.
White House principal deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton claimed this week about Power,
“She’s working on expanding the channels, the corridors through which that aid can flow. We’re going to keep at this. The events of this morning just underscored how deep and dire the humanitarian needs amongst civilian population in Gaza are right now.”

The IDF asserts that food aid trucks that entered Gaza on Thursday were ‘looted,’ and ended up killing several Gazans. That statement reads, “This morning humanitarian aid trucks entered northern Gaza, residents surrounded the trucks and looted the supplies being delivered. As a result of the pushing, trampling and being run over by the trucks, dozens of Gazans were killed and injured.”
Reuters reports on the additional aid to Gaza,
President Joe Biden said on Friday the U.S. military would drop humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip in the coming days, and that Washington would be doing everything it could to get more aid into the enclave.
Biden, speaking in the White House’s Oval Office, said the aid flow into Gaza was not nearly enough and that he wanted hundreds of more aid trucks to get in.
