During this week’s White House press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre was asked why federal immigration officers aren’t “tougher” on illegal immigrants who commit violent crimes against American citizens.

Peter Doocy pointed out the case in New York involving a group of eight illegal immigrants who attacked a New York City police officer. Since the incident, six out of the eight suspects involved in the attack have been released on bail.

Karine Jean-Pierre declined to comment on the New York City incident due to it being an ongoing case. Despite her inability to comment on the specific case, Jean-Pierre stated, “Anyone who is found guilty of a crime should be held accountable.”

Heading into the 2024 Presidential election, it is evident that border security will be one of the most impactful issues on the ballot, with a strong contrast between the two candidates’ opinions on the subject.

The Biden Administration continues to face heavy criticism for its management of the United States southern border, the economy, and Joe Biden’s mental ability. A tough situation for the Biden Administration heading into the 2024 Presidential election.

Later in the briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether she believes there are liberal district attorneys in big cities across America who are too soft on crime. Karine stated that she would not address each state individually. She emphasized that the Biden Administration believes that everyone found guilty of a crime needs to be held accountable.
