During today’s White House press briefing, Karine Jean-Pierre was asked why the Biden Administration continues to post on TikTok despite the growing security concerns surrounding the app.

During a call with Xi Jinping yesterday, Biden raised concerns about the popular app and its security implications related to the collection of user data. Despite all of this, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris continue to post frequently on their own TikTok account.

Karine Jean-Pierre refused to comment on the matter, stating that the decision to remain on TikTok is a campaign decision. She also mentioned that the Biden Administration is not seeking to ban TikTok but instead divesting from the app.

While there are calls to ban the popular app from the United States due to its particularly intrusive data collection, which has been stated to pose a major threat to national security.

TikTok took over the social media world after becoming the most downloaded app in October 2018. Since then, it has become one of the most popular social media platforms for Americans of all ages.

Many people are concerned about the potential national security risks of the President and the Vice President of the United States continuing to use the app. Biden and Harris share a TikTok account called @Bidenhq, which is used as a promotional platform for Kamala and Joe’s campaign.
