The social media app Truth Social, which is used exclusively by former President Trump who owns it through the Trump Media & Technology Group which has recently merged with Digital World Acquisition Corp, or DWAC, made a move today that may signal who Trump is considering for Vice President.
As of now, Trump has not formally announced who his running mate will be for the 2024 Election. Should Trump win, whoever he chooses will most likely have the best odds of becoming President in the 2028 Election. Needless to say, Trump’s choice will have a serious effect on the 2024 Election and possibly politics for a long time after his Presidency.
We have speculated on Slingshot News that Trump could select former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard as his running mate. Gabbard would provide Trump a boost with a demographic that he has traditionally struggled with, suburban women.
Gabbard, who comes from the Democratic Party and is a Military veteran, would help Trump with the vote of suburban women far more than Mike Pence, who undoubtedly contributed little-to-nothing in terms of support.
Gabbard’s Vice Presidency would signal the changing tide in American politics since Trump’s entrance into the political world… In other words, the complete realingment of America’s political structure.
Trump and Gabbard, who once diametrically opposed one another, now find themselves in agreement on many issues. Granted, Gabbard has changed her position on some things, like abortion, but for the most part, the momentum of this greater political alignment has put us in a situation where the politics of Donald Trump and Tulsi Gabbard are not all that different.
This afternoon, Trump’s Truth Social app put out a notification urging users to watch a video of Tulsi Gabbard describing why she decided to leave the Democratic Party. Gabbard departed the Democratic Party in 2022 after failing to achieve success in her 2020 Presidential campaign.

Now a self-declared Independent, Gabbard was reportedly sought after by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his running mate. Gabbard allegedly declined the offer, and many have speculated that she declined the offer because she may be being considered for Donald Trump’s Vice President.
The alert from Truth Social takes users to a post by Citizens Free Press which shows Gabbard explaining why she left the Democratic Party to podcast host Lex Fridman. Fridman hosts an incredibly interesting and informative show on Youtube that I highly reccomend to my audience. It is longform, but Lex is able to pull out information that very few hosts are able to bring out.
The video currently has over 844 ‘Retruths’ and 2.56k likes on the platform.
